KFC drive through

Ammon News - A man went to KFC and heard his own voice talking back to him through the drive-through machine.

Ryan Evans had a Twilight Zone moment when he went to his local restaurant, in Greensborough, Australia, and made a TikTok video of the experience.

As he arrives at the machine, he hears the pre-recorded message say 'Welcome to KFC Greensborough, when you’re ready to place an order', then Ryan pauses for a second then joins in - and he sounds exactly the same as the recording.

That's because he used to work at the restaurant and recorded the message, and the restaurant hasn't changed it in the 14 years since.

Ryan, 37, said he decided to pay the store a visit after someone told him he was featured on the store’s speaker.

Speaking to Australia's News.com, Ryan said: "One of my friends went through the drive-through about six months ago and completely reminded me about the fact that my voice is still on the speaker box even though I haven’t been there in about 14 years.

“We used to have headsets you could actually speak to the customers through the speaker box with, when I was working there the headsets actually broke down.

“On a whim, I was like let’s just record something onto the speaker box to play automatically whenever you come through.”

Ryan started working at the KFC restaurant when he was 15 and recorded the speaker message when he was 23 and the branch’s store manager in 2007.

His clip of the video has now been viewed more than two million times on TikTok, and has received countless comments.

One person said: "Hit em up for royalties I reckon... paid in Wicked Wings."

"If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it," said another.
