Jordanian referee officiates Tokyo Olympics’ badminton tournaments

Ammon News - Jordanian international referee, Basel Al-Nubani, officiated the badminton tournament at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

A statement by the Jordanian Olympic Committee on Tuesday said that Al-Nubani is the only Arab referee in this sport’s tournaments at the Olympic Games, which kicked off last Friday.

Some 14 Jordanian athletes have participated in the Olympics with eight sports, including equestrian, boxing, karate, taekwondo, swimming, shooting, judo and athletics.

Noteworthy, Saleh Al-Sharbati, a Jordanian taekwondo player, on Monday won the silver medal for the men's under 80 kg category against Russian player Maxim Khrushchev.
