Iraq commends Jordan's solidarity following hospital fire incident

Ammon News - The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday praised Jordan's solidarity following an incident where a fire broke out at a hospital in the Dhi Qar governorate, killing and injuring dozens.

Yesterday evening, Jordan had announced it was prepared to receive victims of the incident in its local hospitals to provide the necessary treatment.

A statement, posted on the Iraqi ministry's official website on Wednesday, indicated that "Iraqi Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein received a phone call from his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Safadi, during which he said that Jordanian hospitals are ready to receive the injured and provide any needed assistance."

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi had also conveyed the condolences of His Majesty King Abdullah II to the government and people of Iraq over the tragic incident.
