Jordan Ambassador in Cairo and the Kingdom's permanent representative to the Arab League, Amjad Adaileh, stressed the importance of building on the expertise and energies that the Arab countries and China bring together, which can be exchanged and invested, in a way that enhances the strategic partnership between the Arab world and China.

Adaileh's remarks during the 17th session of the Senior Officials Meeting of the Arab-China Cooperation Forum and the 6th Session of the Strategic Political Dialogue at the Senior Officials Level.

"In light of the difficult circumstances that surround our world, we need today more than ever for multilateral action based on international law, respect for the principles of good neighborliness and not interfering in internal affairs of countries, to overcome challenges we face and resolve regional crises," Adaileh said.

During the meeting, which was held via teleconference on Tuesday, under the umbrella of the General Secretariat of the Arab League, Adaileh expressed aspiration to deepen and increase cooperation with China in order to serve common interests and resolve the region's crises, foremost of which is finding a real horizon for achieving a just and comprehensive peace to the Palestinian issue that the peoples accept and which will not be achieved as long as the Israeli occupation remains and unless the free and independent Palestinian state is embodied with occupied Jerusalem as its capital on the pre-June 4 1967 borders according to the two-state solution.

Chaired from the Arab side by Qatar, president of the current session of the Arab League Council, Adaileh pointed out that holding this meeting reflects the commitment of Arab countries and China to move forward in cooperation based on mutual respect, and represents an opportunity to complement the coordination and efforts made at the ninth session of the Ministerial Meeting of the Arab-Chinese Cooperation Forum, which was held in Amman on July 6, 2020.

He added that the Middle East region suffers from many crises that need to be resolved with international cooperation that devote the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of states and respect for international law, in addition to protecting the national state that provides justice, safety and equality without discrimination for all its citizens in order to build a bright future that Arab-Chinese cooperation will contribute to realize it.

The meeting was attended on the Chinese side by Assistant Foreign Minister of China Deng Li and Director-General of the Department of West Asia and North Africa at the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Wang Di, while Qatar was represented by President of the current session of the Council of the Arab League, Ambassador Ibrahim Al-Sahlawi, Permanent Representative of Qatar and for the Arab League, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the International Political Affairs Sector Khaled Al-Habbas
