Ammon News - Medical aid from Bangladesh for the people of Palestine was handed over in Jordan on Monday, dailystar reported.
Nahida Sobhan, the Bangladesh ambassador to Jordan, handed over the medicines at a programme to Dr Hussein Shibli, secretary general of Hashemite Charity Foundation.
Officials of Palestine embassy in Jordan were also present.
The Hashemite Charity Foundation is an organisation that coordinates with the Jordanian government and Israeli government to deliver aid to the Palestinians.
Dr Hussein Shibli thanked the Bangladesh government for providing the assistance.
"Bangladesh sets a unique example of Muslim brotherhood by standing by the side of Palestinian people. The medical assistance will strengthen the mental strength of the Palestinian people," he said as reported by dailystar.
Mentioning the humanitarian step of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Dr Shibli lauded the leadership of PM Sheikh Hasina.
Nahida Sobhan said $50,000, provided by the Government of Bangladesh as cash assistance, has already been deposited in the state treasury of the Government of Palestine.
Bangladesh has always been vocal about Palestine since the birth of the country and has been showing sympathy and support for the people of Palestine, said the ambassador.
She mentioned the speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman given at the United Nation General Assembly where he expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine and called upon Israel to put an end to all oppression against Palestinians.
