Ammon News - A Cabinet session, chaired by Prime Minister, Bisher Khasawneh, has approved the mitigating measures related to collecting money owed by citizens and businesses in the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) region, in order to alleviate impacts of the Covid-19 crisis, Petra reported.
The mitigating measures included a 100 percent exemption from licensing fees and fines for 2021 for businesses which was entirely shut down and granting a 25% discount to economic establishments on all articles (fees, fines and allowances) due on profession licenses granted to them, to be in force until 1/7/2021 and extending the renewal period for licenses, fees and billboards for the same period.
The measures also included exempting citizens and businesses from 25 percent of construction fees and building compensations and parking allowances, provided that they had not obtained a discount from the relevant committee, to be in force until 30/9/2021, in addition to granting exemption from fines on buildings lore and property tax until 31/12/2021, according to Petra.
The Cabinet approved the recommendations of the committee assigned to settle outstanding issues between taxpayers and the Income and Sales Tax Department, in order to settle the tax situations of (1237) companies and taxpayers, who had obligations in accordance with the provisions of the Income Tax Law and the General Sales Tax Law, based on requests they submitted to the committee.
The Council of Ministers also approved the recommendations of the relevant committee to consider outstanding claims between taxpayers and/or violators, and the Jordanian Customs Department, to settle 6 cases of taxpayers and violators, provided that they commit to paying the full remaining amounts included any fees, taxes or expenses within two months from the date of this decision.
The cabinet approved the national strategy of the Jordanian cooperative movement for (2021-2025).
The strategy aims to organize and promote the cooperative sector, formulate a medium-term strategic document for the cooperative movement for five years, formulate a guiding document for the Jordanian Cooperative Corporation (JCC), and devise an operational work plan and institutional work program for the JCC.
