House speaker meets UAE Ambassador

Ammon News - Speaker of the Lower House of Representatives, Abdel Moneim Odat, on Tuesday met with UAE Ambassador to Jordan, Ahmed Ali Al-Balushi, for a discussion on ways to strengthen joint parliamentary coordination and prospects for cooperation in all fields, especially parliamentary fields.

Odat lauded the deep-rooted Jordanian-Emirati ties, which is reflected in continuous meetings between the leaderships of both countries, which serve the two brotherly countries and peoples, as His Majesty King Abdullah recently met with his brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

He commended the great development that the UAE is witnessing in all fields, as he praised the UAE model in facing the repercussions of the Coronavirus pandemic, and the exchange of expertise between the two countries in this field, pointing out to the importance of enhancing Emirati investments in Jordan due to their effective contributions to supporting the national economy.

The house speaker underlined the importance and sustainability of joint parliamentary coordination, expressing appreciation to the Speaker of the Federal National Council, Saqr Ghobash, for his response to the Jordanian House of Representatives' call to hold an urgent session of the Arab Parliamentary Union regarding the situation in the Palestinian territories.

For his part, Ambassador Al-Balushi expressed the UAE's great appreciation for the Kingdom, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, and for his positions in support of the issues of the Arab and Islamic nation.

The Emirati ambassador said that the Jordanian experiences in various fields had a great impact on the UAE's development process, stressing his country's keenness to enhance its investments in the Kingdom due to the appropriate climates it provides.
