Ammon News - Social media went wild with suggestions of what the monarch could be keeping in her handbag after photos emerge of the Queen cutting a cake with a sword.
Twitter users had #WhatsInTheQueensHandbag trending after she cut a cake with a sword over the weekend.
The hashtag began trending on the platform after Her Majesty brought smiles and laughter to the Eden Project in Cornwall through her ‘unusual’ cake-cutting methods.
The Queen joked with Kate Middleton and Camilla Parker-Bowles at the G7 summit as she swapped a knife for the longer blade, saying: "I don't think it's going to work."
Social media users reacted by posting many weird and wonderful suggestions for what the monarch could be carrying around at public ceremonies with everything from a burner phone to the portal to Narnia.
Janet Ellis suggested the monarch had all the supplies of a British granny, writing: "A couple of Werthers Originals. A cotton hankie chief with pink flowers in the corner. Her Halifax savings book. And a bottle of Vic's vapour rub."
Stu Wilson said: "Inside The Queen's handbag is Mary Poppins carrying the Queen's real handbag."
Also sticking with the theme of movies, "A portal to Narnia," was suggested by NeoMatrix.
Joanna McCready said: "A burner phone to call 007."
Before later tweeting "a cat obviously", although, we're not so convinced that would go down too well with the royal corgis.
Other wild suggestions included a hanky embroidered with "Trump's a c***t", nudes of Big Foot and postcards from the aliens that built Stonehenge.
Many did make nice and more realistic suggestions as they said she carries a photo of her late husband Prince Philip or pictures of her great-grandchildren.
But alas, what is really inside the Queen's handbag remains a mystery although experts have previously told Hello magazine that the sovereign definitely doesn't carry a phone.
Phil Dampier, the author of What's In The Queen's Handbag: And Other Royal Secrets, told the publication that she carries treats for her much-loved corgis, "sometimes a crossword cut from a newspaper by a servant in case she has time to kill" and "a throwback to her days as a girl guide – a penknife".
He also claims that the Queen owns at least 300 handbags, according to reports in 2016.
