Trade ministry: 353 businesses fined during June over defense orders violations

 The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, and government agencies, tasked to following up on individuals' compliance to anti-Covid-19 defense orders, since the beginning of June, have fined 353 businesses, including 28 for non-compliance with work protocols at shopping and fitness centers, 11 for unlicenced cafes, and 314 for worker non-compliance for failing to wearing face masks, and social distancing.

In a press statement on Sunday, the ministry said monitoring authorities visited about 20,267 businesses during June 1-12 period across the Kingdom, adding that fines were issued against 19 shopping malls, 34 cafes, 15 factories, and 22 popular restaurants, in addition to 42 clothing stores, 177 supermarkets, among others.

Meanwhile, 128 violations were issued against individuals for failing to wearing face masks and observing social distancing rules, added the statement.
