JMD forecasts fair weather in highlands over weekend

Ammon News - Mercury levels on Thursday are expected be around their annual average, so moderate weather will prevail in the highlands and the plains, while it will be hot in other areas of the country, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

Winds will be northwesterly moderate to brisk, blowing dust in the Badia regions, the JMD said.

On Friday, temperatures will dip few degrees, making relatively hot to hot weather in much parts of the Kingdom, except in the hilly areas and the plains where it will be fair, with northwesterly moderate to active winds at times, the meteorologists added.

Toward Saturday, mercury will rise again, bringing hot conditions in most regions, while it will remain moderate in the mountains and the plains, the JMD predicted.

The highs in Amman and other highlands across the Kingdom today will range between 28 and 31 degrees Celsius, dropping at night to 16C or even 12C in the southern highlands. In the port city of Aqaba, it will be much hotter with mercury reaching a high of 41C and a low of 24C.
