The Ministry of Health announced 12 Covid-19 fatalities and 598 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Wednesday, bringing the death toll to 9, 561 and the caseload to 741, 699.
There are currently 8, 501 active COVID-19 cases in Jordan, announced the media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.
The statement added that the number of hospitalizations today stood at 58, while 66 patients have recovered and discharged, the statement noted.
According to the briefing, the total number of recoveries recorded on Sunday, whether at hospitals or at home, stood at 841, bringing the total to 723,637 since the outbreak began.
Moreover, the number of Covid-19 patients still receiving treatment at hospitals countrywide has reached 471.
The statement also indicated that occupancy of the ICU bed capacity has hit 17%, 25%, and 8%, in the northern, central, and southern regions, respectively.
With regard to testing, 20,459 tests were conducted Wednesday, 2.92 percent of which were positive.
Since March, 2020, the total number of tests administered has increased to 7,471,403, the joint statement noted.
The statement added that 1,892,782 people received the first Covid-19 vaccine dose countrywide, while the tally of 2nd jab recipients hit 594, 835, noting 2,803, 526 people have so far registered on the gov't platform designed to arrange schedule of vaccine rollout.
