Ammon News -

The Ministry of Health has launched a strict campaign to ensure the implementation of public safety measures and the ban of smoking in public places, in line with the gradual reopening of closed sectors.

Assistant Secretary-General for Primary Health Care, Dr. Ghazi Sharkas, on Monday said the campaign comes to enforce the Public Health Law 47, which dictated a strict no-smoking rule for public places and went into effect in 2008.

"This coincides with the government’s tendency to gradually reopen sectors and allow cafes and restaurants to serve shisha while adhering to conditions of public health and safety set by the Ministry of Health," he added.
