Ammon News - MPs and activists on Saturday in Zarqa stood in solidarity with Lifta, a village in the occupied Palestinian territories which is facing threat of Judaisation after an Israeli court has approved the sale of its lands at an auction.
The participants reiterated the Arab identity of Lifta, whose residents immigrated in 1948, calling for countering all Judaisation attempts. Ahmad Liftawi, one of the organisers of the event, said that he is leading a campaign in the Israeli courts to reject the court’s decision.
Khaled Hammad, a participant, said that the 8,000-dunum village, located northwest of Jerusalem, is one of the world’s 25 most endangered sites according to the World Monuments Fund, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
