06-06-2021 02:26 AM

Ammon News -

A huge explosion has struck a steel factory in the Iranian city of Zarand in Kerman province, according to reports.

The latest explosion on Saturday in Zarand comes following a series of other incidents of fires and explosions at other installations across Iran.

Earlier on Wednesday, a fire broke out at the Shahid Tondgooyan refinery in Shahr-e-Rey, south of the capital Tehran, Iran’s state broadcaster (IRIB) said on Telegram confirmed at the time.

Hours before the incident in Shahr-e-Rey, the largest ship in the Iranian navy caught fire and later sank in the Gulf of Oman under unclear circumstances, state media reported.

In 2020, Iran witnessed a series of mysterious fires and explosions across the country, some of them at sensitive military and nuclear sites.
