Ammon News - The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) discussed with Swedish Ambassador Alexandra Rydmark and the embassy's Economic and Commercial Affairs Officer means to develop economic relations at various levels, and the role of the private sector institutions.
During a meeting on Wednesday evening, the two sides discussed prospects for increasing two-way trade, exchanging visits of delegations and economic missions, focusing on sectors of common interest as well as exchanging information and data.
The ACC's Board of Directors underlined the sector's commitment to increasing trade exchange between the two countries and enhance cooperation with private sector institutions in Sweden, pointing to opportunities and areas that can boost trade, which is still 'modest.'
Rydmark pointed to the deep-rooted ties at various levels and the opportunities through which the two countries can increase the volume of trade exchange and support joint trade relations.
She underlined the importance of enhancing bilateral trade and economic relations through the business communities, namely the Swedish Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the ACC, stressing the need for joint action to raise the two countries' trade exchange and increase the promotion of their products.
The ambassador also pointed to the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency's (SIDA) role in serving various trade and economic sectors in Jordan.
