Amman court tries cases of corruption, waste of public money and forgery

A judicial body specialized in corruption cases in Amman Conciliation Court has heard public prosecution witnesses in a case pertaining to a public limited company.


The case involves a defendant, who served in former Lower House and Senate, alongside his son and a third person, who is a member of the company's board of directors.


In another session also attended by "Petra," the court heard testimonies in two corruption case pertaining to two public and limited shareholding insurance companies, which saw the defendants charged with wasting public money and conflict of interest.


Regarding the first company case, the court heard 16 prosecution testimonies, while three other witnesses are outside the country, the trial proceedings showed.
In the 2nd case, the session was adjourned to mid-June to hear other public prosecution witnesses.


In a verdict in a forgery case, the court charged a director at a government ministry with faking and using a false certificate to obtain a scholarship.
