Senate President, Faisal Fayez, said Jordan has built "strong state institutions" since its establishment, foremost is the Jordanian Armed Forces, the Arab Army (JAF), which faced all challenges.
Fayez, speaking to "Arab Affairs" Show on Egyptian Nile Channel, which also hosted Jordanian ambassador to Cairo, Amjad Adaileh, Fayez said Jordan enters its 2nd centennial, with determination to counter challenges, referring to the "distinguished" relations that His Majesty King Abdullah II built with various countries, including partnership with Egypt, in a way that serves Arab unity.
For his part, Adaileh underlined the Hashemite leadership’s openness to all segments of Jordanian society and their participation in political life constituted a "distinguished Jordanian model."
With regard to Jordanian diplomacy, Adaileh said its goals focused to serve Jordan's supreme interests under the King's directives, stressing that the Palestinian cause for Jordan is a "fundamental, national" issue.
Describing "Palestinian cause, as the biggest challenge," Adaileh said Jordan and Egypt maintains joint coordination to relaunch "serious" peace negotiations, which would end the occupation and establish a Palestinian state according to the two-state solution.
As for the Gaza Strip, Adaileh noted "close" cooperation between all concerned parties to address repercussions of the Israeli aggression on coastal enclave, which is "a challenge."
Lauding the Jordanian-Egyptian relations as "deep-rooted, strategic," Adaileh added that the two countries "politically share similar view on all axes."
Adaileh, in this context, referred to the strategic partnership between the two countries in the energy and electricity fields aimed to implement "strategic" projects to develop joint economic cooperation.
Adaileh highlighted the importance of the model of integration and tripartite cooperation between Jordan, Egypt and Iraq to serve their common interests and the region as a whole.
