COVID kills seven in Jordan, positive tests at two percent

COVID-19 killed seven people in Jordan in the last 24 hours, as the death toll stands at 9,443 and a total of 480 cases were recorded, pushing the caseload to some 735,140, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH).

Breaking down Saturday's tally, the MoH said in a statement 172 cases were recorded in Amman, 101 in Zarqa, 83 in Irbid, 34 in Karak, 27 in Tafilah, 18 in Mafraq, 15 in Balqa12 in Maan, 12 in Aqaba, three in Ajloun and three in Jerash.

The MoH said in a press statement that some 39 people had recovered and were discharged from hospitals while 94 others were admitted, as the total number of COVID-19 patients receiving medical treatment in hospitals stands at 611.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom hovers around 11,790, it added.

More than 713,900 COVID-19 patients, including patients who had been self-isolating, have fully recovered so far.

Around 2.9 percent of the 16,200 COVID-19 tests that were conducted today came back positive compared with 2.8 percent Friday.
