Ammon News -

Jordan's Cabinet Saturday approved the Agro-Industrial Complexes Project terms of reference to lure in investors and rejuvenate the agriculture sector.

The project seeks the industrialization of agriculture production to raise the added value of agriculture products; it reasons that by industrializing agriculture, production losses would be limited and exports would increase, generating more income for farmers and providing more jobs.

The Cabinet also approved to continue providing telecommunication companies that operate in Jordan free-of-charge bands to bolster online learning for millions of school and university students until 30 June 2021.

Also approved were the recommendations of the Settlement and Reconciliation Committee to settle disputes between some 845 taxpayers (companies and individuals) and the Income and Sales Tax Department.

The Cabinet approved the recommendations of a committee formed to review dispute cases between the Jordan Customs and individuals and those who fail to make their financial commitments to the department.
