Ammon News - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Hala Zawati, on Friday, said that investigations are underway to determine the technical reasons behind the power outages that hit millions of houses.
The minister made her remarks during a press briefing at the Prime Ministry, as she announced that restoring electricity was implemented by technical teams in record time.
For his part, Director General of the Jordan Electric Power Company (JEPCO) Amjad Rawashdeh said the identifying the technical reasons behid the power cut requires in-depth research and analysis, noting that Jordan's electrical system is stable and safe, and meets international standards.
Interior Minister Mazen Faraya said the relevant authorities dealt with the power cut efficiently, professionally and quickly, adding that administrative governors across the Kingdom followed up on the repercussions of the power outage to ensure the sustainability of operations in vital sectors.
Health Minister Feras Hawari, during the briefing, said Jordan prepared for such emergencies more than two months ago, noting that one of the generators at Ghor Al Safi Hospital broke down and employees had to respond according to steps of the emergency plan.
He added that no one was injured as a result of the power cut in any hospital.
