Ammon News - The Lower House of Parliament is engaged in extensive and multi-level contacts with regional and global parliamentary bodies to bring international attention to the crimes perpetrated by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, Speaker Abdulmunim Odat said on Monday.
Addressing a special meeting of the house to discuss the ongoing Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip and elsewhere in the occupied Palestinian territories, Odat added that the parliament has been closely following the developments in Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza and the "tragic and barbaric" attacks against the Palestinian people.
He indicated that the house has been making contacts with the Arab Parliamentary Union, the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and many other parliamentary bodies at the international level, in order to "draw attention to the danger these developments pose to the life and future of the Palestinian people, and to the security and stability of the entire region."
"We have made important steps towards highlighting the crimes committed by the Zionist entity, and the legal and moral responsibility of the international community, its bodies and organizations, to hold that entity, which violates international law, accountable, and condemn its racist behavior, inhumane practices, and its threat to world peace," Odat told the meeting attended by Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh.
