Ammon News - Occupancy rate in Aqaba's hotels and residences reached 92% during the Eid Al Fitr holiday, Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Tourism Commissioner Sharhabeel Madi said on Sunday, as Petra reported.
In a press statement, Madi said the ASEZA had developed an "integrated" plan to encourage tourism and receive visitors on the Eid holiday, with the participation of the city's public and private sectors, which focused on service aspects in the health, administrative and tourism sectors by deploying teams to serve beaches and parks.
The teams also operated the port city's public facilities and monitored artistic and recreational activities in the Aqaba governorate, he pointed out.
To help avoid eco-violations and guide tourists, he said the ASEZA distributed awareness leaflets under: "Leave it Clean" campaign at Aqaba entrances, and outlined a free amenities program held at diverse sites in the port city, according to Petra.
