Drop in temps forecast for three days

Ammon News - A slight drop in temperatures is expected on Monday, but it will remain 5-6 degrees above annual average, bringing relatively hot weather in the highlands and the plains, and hot conditions in other parts of the Kingdom, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily brief.

Clouds at various altitudes are also forecast to appear with a chance of scattered showers in the southern and eastern regions, and westerly moderate to brisk winds, the JMD added.

On Tuesday, a further dip in mercury levels is expected, so it will be relatively hot in much areas of the country, except in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba where it will hot, with clouds at medium and high altitudes and a chance of spotty showers in eastern and southern regions, the JMD added, noting that winds will be northwesterly moderate to active at times.

No significant change in the weather is forecast on Wednesday, the JMD predicted.

The highs in Amman and other highlands across the Kingdom will range between 29 and 33 degrees Celsius on Monday, dropping at night to 19C or even 16C in the southern highlands.

In the Gulf city of Aqaba, it will be hotter with mercury reaching a high of 41C a low of 25C.
