Temps to rise 7-8 degrees above average today

Ammon News - Mercury levels on Sunday are predicted to rise 7-8 degrees above seasonal average, bringing relatively hot weather in the highlands, and sizzling conditions in other parts of the Kingdom, with clouds at medium and high altitudes, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

Over the next two days, a slight dip in temperatures is expected, so it will be relatively hot in the hilly areas and the plains, and hot in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba, with clouds at various altitudes and a chance of scattered showers, mainly in the southern and eastern regions, the JMD added.

The highs in Amman and other highlands across the Kingdom will range between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius on Sunday, dropping at night to around 20C.

In the gulf city of Aqaba, it will be hotter with mercury reaching a high of 42C and a low of 28C.
