02-05-2021 01:40 PM

Amman Magistrates Court

Ammon News - The Amman Magistrates Court, on Sunday, held its 11th session on the Salt hospital case, where seven people died due to a lack of oxygen.

In a public hearing, the court, chaired by Judge Odai Freihat, heard new prosecution witnesses, two anesthesiologists who work at the hospital. The total number of prosecution witnesses is expected to reach 49 in the case.

The defense attorneys attended the hearing on behalf of their clients, who were all released after the 30-day custody period ended. The court adjourned the hearing to next Thursday to hear the remaining prosecution witnesses.

The 13 defendants are on trial due to an oxygen supply outage at the Salt government hospital. Last March, the Public Prosecution opened an investigation into the case, prompting the arrest of a number of officials at the Ministry of Health.
