Ammon News - Is your name Josh?
If so, we’re afraid to tell you that you have missed your chance to become the one true Josh.
The archetype of Josh. The perfect platonic form of Josh. That accolade has already gone to someone else, who was named as the champion of all Joshes after fighting for the title.
Does this all sound a bit strange? I guess we’ve all gone that way a bit since the pandemic started.
Basically, hundreds of people all called Josh have gathered together from all over the United States to take part in a duel.
They armed themselves with foam pool noodles to battle each other yesterday, after first playing a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors.
It was all started by Josh Swain, 22, a student from Tucson in Arizona.
He got the ball rolling by messaging other people who shared his name on social media.
After he chose a location at random, hundreds of people showed up at Air Parl in Lincoln, Nebraska, for the event.
KLKN-TV report that Josh Swain from Omaha beat the original Josh at the ‘gruelling and righteous’ battle of Rock, Paper Scissors.
In the subsequent pool noodle competition, which anyone with the first name Josh could enter, the victor was a five-year-old, who was given a Burger King crown.
Josh Swain, the original Josh, said was was surprised things became so big.
‘I did not expect people to be as adamant about this as they are right now,’ he said.
