Ammon News -

The Amman Magistrates Court Wednesday released four people held in connection with a deadly oxygen supply outage at the Al-Salt Government Hospital last month, in which seven coronavirus patients died.

The court released the four defendants after the 30-day custody period ended. Earlier this week, the court released five other defendants.

The court heard two prosecution witnesses, one of whom is a Civil Defense Department officer, as some of the 13 defense attorneys cross-examined the witnesses, while others refrained. The four defendants attended the hearing via virtual technology from prison, according to Petra.

In March, thirteen people were arrested as the Public Prosecution opened an investigation into the case, prompting the resignation of the health minister and the arrest of a number of officials at the Ministry of Health.
