Jordan records 82 new COVID deaths, 3,565 infections on Monday

82 new deaths and 3,565 cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were recorded in Jordan on Monday.

With today’s fatalities and infections, the caseload and death toll from the disease have increased to 669,300 and 7,855 respectively, since the outbreak began in March last year, according to a joint Prime Ministry and Ministry of Health daily brief.

Amman saw 1,756 new infections followed by Irbid 576, including 135 in Ramtha, Zarqa 342, Karak 227, Aqaba 164, Balqaa 140, Mafraq 102, Jerash 79, Maan 65, Ajloun 45, Tafila 42 and 27 cases in Madaba, according to the daily brief.

The number of cases that required admission to hospitals today stood at 291, while 277 cases have recovered and was discharged from hospitals.

With regard to testing, 27,673 tests were conducted Monday, 12.88 percent of which were positive. The total number of tests conducted since March last year has increased to 6,348,440.
