Princess Sumaya University for Technology

Ammon News - President of Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) Mashhoor Al Refai opened the 16th Career Guidance Week and the "My Job from My University" exhibition, with the participation of 28 local and international companies.

This annual event, organised by the Careers Guidance Office at the Deanship of Admissions and Registration, aims to build bridges with the labour markets, open communication channels for PSUT students and graduates with the public and private sectors, according to a PSUT statement.

It also aims to present outstanding graduation projects, hold workshops on establishing companies and teach the foundations for dealing with the needs of the labour market, according to the statement.

In his opening speech, Refai said: "What makes PSUT stand out is that it does not support its students only until graduation, but rather stays by their side, lending its full determination and strength to follow them in their working life, seeking with them so that every graduate has the opportunity at a job that suits his ambitions and abilities."

Refai said that PSUT, under the guidance of HRH Princess Sumaya, Chair of its Board of Trustees, sought to link its specialisations with the labour market by forming advisory committees in its schools. The aim is to create a map of that market and its needs.

PSUT’s Dean of Admissions and Registration Abdul Ghafoor Al Said said that the Careers Guidance Office provides opportunities for graduate students to communicate and network with employers and companies, and learn about available job opportunities.
