Ammon News - Mercury levels are expected to record 4-5 degrees higher than annual average, so moderate and spring-like weather conditions will prevail in much of the Kingdom, except in the Jordan Valley and Aqaba where it will be relatively hot, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its forecast for Thursday.
On Friday, a tangible drop in temperatures is predicted, making relatively cold weather in the highlands, and fair conditions in other regions, with low clouds and northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, blowing dust in the Badia areas, the JMD added.
Toward Saturday, the Kingdom will be affected by a cold and wet air mass, pushing mercury 7-8 degrees below seasonal average and bringing cold and partly cloudy weather with a chance for light showers of rain in the northern and central highlands, the department further said.
Winds will be westerly active with strong gusts exceeding 50km /h at times and blowing dust in the Badia areas, it also noted.
Temperatures in Amman today will reach a high of 26 degrees Celsius, dropping to 12C at night, while the Gulf of Aqaba will see a high of 35C, dipping to 20C during night hours.
