His Majesty King Abdullah on Wednesday addressed Jordanians about the latest developments.

In the name of Allah the most gracious the most merciful.

Peace be upon you

I speak to you today as my family and tribe, having my absolute trust. I reassure you that discord has been wiped out and Jordan is and will remain secure and stable God willing with the solidarity of Jordanians and the dedication of our brave army and security agencies.

Our country got used to face challenges and overcome them. Throughout our history, we overcame all the attempts that targeted the security and stability of our country, resulting in becoming stronger and more united. We will not deviate from the path of our fathers and ancestors the people's glory and Jerusalem and its holy sites.

The latest challenge was not the most dangerous on our country, but it was the most painful to me as the parties of the discord was been from inside and outside our united home. I can not express my feelings of shock, anger and pain as a brother and care taker of the Hashemite family and as a leader of this beloved people.

There is no difference between my responsibility towards my small family and big family as the late King Hussein vowed me to serve you and I vowed myself to you to continue together the process of building and achievement in the country of love and glory. My first responsibility is to serve Jordan and protect its people and constitution.


Nothing should transcend the security and stability of Jordan and the necessary measures had to be taken.

I decided to deal with Prince Hamzah within the boundaries of the Hashemite family and I authorized my uncle Prince El Heisman bin Talal regarding this matter. Prince Hamzah before the Hashemite family announced that he is committed to the approach and principles of fathers and ancestors in addition to being loyal to their vision and message and to place Jordan interests, constitution and laws as a top property.

With regard to the other aspects, it is still under investigation until it is finished. After that, the results will be announced according to law to achieve justice and transparency.

Our country is facing critical economic challenges, especially after the pandemic of COVID-19. We face these challenges united as we always do. Let us build our country and future in a way that our country deserves.

Jordan will remain glorious with the resilience, determination and loyalty of its people. Our path will be protecting our country and being united in facing challenges and characterized with justice and mercy regarding anything we do.
