Ammon News - A truly unusual home on sale for £500,000 in Low Fell, Gateshead has left people baffled by its interior, with many viewers joking that it looks like a spaceship or a hospital ward.

If ever there was a reminder to not judge a book by its cover, this house is probably it.

With its attractive panelled facade and rooftop terrace, it could be the perfect property.

It also has three garages and two parking spots, so you'd never be stressed looking for a parking spot at the end of a stressful day.

Overall, the roomy four-bedroom property with three bathrooms in Low Fell in Gateshead, south of Newcastle, has a lot going for it.

Priced at £500,000, it might seem a little expensive for some, but one look inside will leave you open-mouthed.

In spite of the standard exterior, a room-by-room look around the house leaves you with a lot of questions.

There's a lot going on here, that's definitely fair to say.

For instance, you might feel like you're in space while living there - due to the all-white interior with sleek grey fixtures.

The huge kitchen is filled with hi-tech gadgets, but be warned, it doesn't appear to have a window you can open if you burn an oven pizza.

It has a very futuristic vibe, which carries on throughout the home, once you walk up the stainless steel (of course) stairs.

The bathroom has very basic toilets, which lots of people on social media worried might be too uncomfortable.

The all-white living room features a huge TV and electric fire, and a sleek white sofa - free of coffee or wine stains.

Meanwhile, the property may make you feel like you're travelling in an airless pod, with small circular windows and a door that looks like it belongs in a space station.

In another living room, gym equipment is set up in front of another white sofa.

But your eyes aren't deceiving you - there is a *splash* of colour with some funky red pillows offsetting the neutral design.

In another bathroom, there are two toilets side-by-side and dual showers around the corner.

The private roof terrace offers incredible views - and something different to the interior of the highly unusual property.

The listing on Rightmove doesn't give any clues to the property's unique design, although agents Belle Vue Estate has created a charming video, dramatically set to Carl Orff's famous "O Fortuna" from Carmina Burana.

The listing states: "Having an extremely individual design, this property will take you on a spectacular tour of wonder and amazement.

"The unique home boasts both a touch of luxury and privacy whilst keeping many original and industrial features from its heritage and past.

"Formally the Co-op stores dating back to 1900 and serving the local community for many years."

Comments left by prospective buyers saw the property compared to classic flick "American Pyscho", a morgue and the home of a serial killer.

One man commented: "Found it. The most awfully designed house I've ever seen."

Another joked: "'Extremely individual design.' Well, that's one way of putting it. How offended would you be if an estate agent said 'I think you're going to like this one'?"

A third bluntly commented: "This futuristic serial killer's lair is up for sale and making the rounds of the internet.

"Do take the video tour in order to properly appreciate the mentality (and musical taste) of whoever was responsible for this crime against humanity/architecture."

One prospective buyer asked: "Were they nostalgic for prison toilets?"

Another viewer said: "This is truly awful. It actually makes me feel nervous. Why is there a prison toilet? Why are the only colourful items hideous? It’s like a cross between the inside of a lunchbox and a budget sci-fi set."
