Ammon News - Head of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC), Nael Kabariti, urged representatives of the private sector and the various concerned ministries and official bodies to coordinate to develop proactive plans during the holy month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, to curb Covid-19 spread.

In a press statement issued Saturday, he stressed the necessity to make the "proactive" plans consistent with the difficult economic conditions that all economic sectors are going through due to the pandemic, and take into account the increased consumption during the month of fasting.

This demand requires providing "sufficient" quantities of food commodities at affordable prices, he noted.

Noting the necessity to extend the working hours of shopping centers and restaurants, similar to many countries, he stressed the need to reduce partial curfew hours while intensifying supervision and checking on compliance with the preventive measures, and updating health protocols to avoid congestion during shopping operations.

Through raising awareness, he called for intensifying all stakeholders' efforts to increase adherence to health procedures and protocols that ensure the safety of all.
