Boy, 14, dies at waterfall as temperatures hit 24C on hottest March day for 53 years

Ammon News - A 14-year-old boy tragically died at a waterfall in Bradford.


Emergency rescue teams were spotted around Goit Stock Waterfall on Tuesday evening.

Police have confirmed it was in response to a concern for safety.

A 14-year-old had entered the water near to the waterfall and his body was sadly recovered shortly after, Yorkshire Live reports.


West Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called just after 6pm yesterday evening (30 March) to reports of a concern for safety at Goit Stock waterfall off Hallas Lane, Cullingworth.

"A 14-year-old male had entered the water.

"Emergency services attended, including fire service, ambulance and underwater rescue teams and recovered a body from the water.

"There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances and a file has been prepared for the coroner."
