Cabinet okays settlements with taxpayers, accepts resignation of COVID czar

Ammon News - The Cabinet on Sunday approved settlements reached with 982 corporate and individual taxpayers as forwarded by a government-commissioned settlement and conciliation committee.

The settlements follow applications submitted by taxpayers, according to a prime ministry statement which indicated that the arrangement is designed to encourage taxpayers to pay their taxes and resolve pending cases in accordance with the relevant legislation.

The Cabinet also accepted the resignation of coronavirus czar and Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health for Epidemiology and Communicable Diseases Dr. Wa'el Hayajneh.

Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh thanked Hayajneh for his service and the efforts he made during the pandemic.
