Ammon News - Eighteen impoverished families received keys to their new residences in South Shouna region in Balqa governorate and Safi Ghour district in Karak governorate on Saturday as part of the Royal Initiative to build homes for underprivileged families, which was established in implementation of His Majesty King Abdullah II's directives and in accordance with the principles and standards adopted by the Ministry of Social Development.
Royal Hashemite Court Chief Yousef Issawi, head of the follow-up committee for the implementation of Royal Initiatives, handed keys to the new residences over to the beneficiary families.
Speaking to "Petra," Issawi said His Majesty pays "great" attention to empowering local communities in the Kingdom's various regions, by identifying their development needs, involving community members in the development process, protecting families who suffer from difficult living conditions, and providing them with a decent life.
Despite the difficult circumstances induced by the Covid-19 pandemic, he said the Royal directives always emphasize the need for concerted efforts and action to implement initiatives that contribute to improving the citizens' living conditions and provide them with quality services.
In this regard, he highlighted the underprivileged families' housing initiative, which is being implemented in cooperation and partnership with the concerned authorities.
