Minister of State for Media Affairs and the official government spokesperson, Sakher Dudin, said the government will announce a set of measures aimed at alleviating the citizen’s burdens next week.
The minister said these measures aim to mitigate the citizens' financial hardships as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic-induced repercussions.
In a telephone intervention on "Happening Today" program, on Jordanian TV on Wednesday, he noted the government will "spare no effort to mitigate citizens' woes" and address this "sensitive" stage that the Kingdom is battling as a result of the pandemic's fallout.
On the epidemiological situation, he emphasized that Jordan now is facing a "very critical pandemic curve," but the government is working by all means in order to reach a safe summer, aimed to reopen sectors and gradually return to normal life.
Dudin noted the ambition to reach a safe summer and open sectors requires "two simultaneous, interconnected" paths; the first of which is related to "full" commitment by the public to preventive measures through wearing masks, maintaining physical distancing, and using sterilizers, with an emphasis on the need to adhere to the implementation of defense orders issued with the aim of preserving lives and livelihoods.
As for the second track, the minister said is related to citizens' willingness to register on the platform designed to receive the Covid-19 vaccine (vaccine.jo), which would contribute to protecting citizens.
