Minister of State for Media Affairs and Government Spokesperson, Sakher Dudin, Tuesday said the government is committed, under royal directives, to a real partnership with the private sector.
During a meeting with the President of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC), Nael Kabariti, Dudin stated that the private sector is a key partner to the government and an important contributor in economic development, lauding the sector's efforts under the circumstances that the Kingdom is experiencing.
In a press release by the JCC, the minister stressed that the government is exerting efforts to alleviate burdens on the economic sectors and citizens following the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kabariti underscored that the true partnership between the two sectors is a 'safety valve' for the national economy that overcomes the difficulties it faces, especially during unique times and circumstances, underlining the need for ongoing coordination with the private sector, namely in economic issues.
"The difficulties we face today as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, which has affected all sectors, calls for continuing this partnership to achieve the interests of the national economy," Kabariti stated.
The private sector, he added, is the engine that drives the economic wheel, and provides job opportunities in addition to supplying the goods and commodities that the local markets needs and attracting foreign investments.
