King visits Al Karamah Battle memorial site on its 53rd anniversary

His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF), accompanied by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, on Sunday visited the memorial site for the martyrs of Al Karamah Battle on its 53rd anniversary.

Led by His Majesty the late King Hussein bin Talal, the 1968 Al Karamah Battle was a milestone in the history of the JAF, in which the Arab Army achieved a historic victory.

King Abdullah was received in the Jordan Valley town of Al Karamah by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Hneiti.

His Majesty laid a wreath at the Unknown Soldier Monument and recited verses from the Holy Quran.
