Prime Minister Bisher al-Khasawneh said that the Kingdom is still witnessing an outbreak's peak of the novel coronavirus.
Al-Khasawneh made his remarks as he chaired a cabinet session, on Thursday, stressing that fighting the pandemic is a collective responsibility and urging citizens to receive the vaccines that are all safe and accredited.
Al-Khasawneh noted, during the session, that the pandemic has imposed a big pressure on the hospitals in the central governorates (Amman, Balqa, Zarqa, and Madaba), adding that the occupancy rate yesterday was about 77 per cent for intensive care rooms and more than 30 percent for ventilators.
He stressed that the measures taken by the government recently were absolutely necessary in an attempt to flatten the epidemic curve in a way that reduces the number of infections and the pressure on hospitals alike.
The national vaccination process will be expanded, the prime minister stressed, adding that all accredited vaccines will be available from different countries in a timely manner.
