The Ministry of Health announced 74 Covid-19 fatalities and 9,192 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Thursday, bringing the death toll to 5,627 and the caseload to 514,107.
The new infections comprised 4, 616 cases in the capital Amman, 962 in Irbid, including 67 in the northern border district of Ramtha, 953 in Zarqa, 471 in Balqa, 414 in Madaba, 326 in Mafraq, 316 in Aqaba, 292 in Jerash, 273 in Karak, 227 in Ma'an, including 86 in Petra region, 177 in Tafielh, and 165 in Ajloun, according to the media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.
The number of patients who were admitted to hospitals today stood at 491, while 314 cases have recovered and discharged, the statement added.
According to the briefing, the cumulative number of recoveries recorded Thursday, whether at hospitals or home, stood at 4, 584, bringing the total to 416,971 since the outbreak began.
Moreover, the number of patients still receiving treatment at hospitals has reached 3, 198, including 369 on ventilators.
The statement also indicated that the number of confirmed and suspected cases on ICU beds has reached 707, or 56% of the total ICU bed occupancy capacity.
With regard to testing, 47,018 tests were conducted Thursday, 19.55 percent of which were positive, the statement noted.
Since last March, the total number of tests administered has increased to 5,364,765, the joint statement noted.
