COVID-19 killed 69 in Jordan in the last 24 hours, as the death toll stands at 5,497, and a total of 8,910 cases were recorded, pushing the caseload to some 495,400, according to the Ministry of Health (MoH).
Breaking down Tuesday's tally, the MoH said that 4,842 cases were recorded in Amman, 1,158 in Irbid, 678 in Zarqa, 564 in Balqa, 345 in Karak, 290 in Aqaba, 236 in Mafraq, 209 in Madaba, 185 in Maan, 165 in Jerash, 122 in Ajloun and 116 in Tafilah.
The MoH said in a press conference in the Prime Ministry that some 286 people had recovered and were discharged from hospitals while 490 others were admitted, as the total number of COVID-19 patients in hospitals stands at 2,980.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stands at around 83,230, it added.
More than 406,650 COVID-19 patients, including patients who had been self-isolating, have fully recovered so far.
More than 20 percent of COVID-19 tests that were conducted today came back positive.
