Ammon News - Secretary General of the Arab Thought Forum (ATF), Mohammad Abu Hammour, participated in an international scientific symposium held by the Regional Planning Department at the College of Urban Planning - University of Kufa, in cooperation with the London Center for Research and Social Consultation, entitled: " The Regional Health Map as a Planning Guide in Crisis Management."

In a forum press statement issued on Saturday, the recently held event dealt with four axes: Digital technologies and systems in spatial analysis, strategic planning and crisis management, planning cities and health regions, and technology and innovation in planning.

According to the statement, Abu Hammour highlighted the importance of the regional health map in crisis management, as it pivotally activates the various physical, social, economic, scientific, technological and administrative components in dealing with the requirements of confronting the Covid-19 pandemic in the field of health conditions, and the depth of their impact and ramifications.

In this regard, he said: The need to build a systematic planning framework for various regional cooperation paths stems from the inevitability of openness to each other's ideas, adding the expedited adoption of efficient health services strengthens the ability to preserve the human lives, as it is the basis for progress and development.

The role of regional action is an important step towards international cooperation aimed at overcoming the pandemic and recovering from its effects, which cannot be achieved amid the unopen world approach, he said.

Abu Hammour stressed the need to provide Covid-19 virus vaccines in an "adequate and fair" manner to all countries, especially the low-income, indebted countries.
