Jordan condemns opening of Czech office in Jerusalem

Jordan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates

Ammon News - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates on Sunday condemned the Czech Republic’s opening of a diplomatic office in occupied Jerusalem as a flagrant violation of international law.

The ministry’s spokesperson, Ambassador Dhaifallah Ali Al-Fayez, stressed that opening this office in Jerusalem blatantly runs contrary to international law and international legitimacy resolutions.

"Any measures or decisions aimed at changing the holy city’s legal status are null, illegal and have no legal effect," he added.

Al-Fayez also affirmed that achieving a just and a comprehensive peace is the only way to reach a two-state solution based on international legitimacy decisions, which guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital.
