Jordan records 55 COVID-19 related deaths and 7,705 infections

Jordan has recorded 55 COVID-19 related deaths and 7,705 new infections, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the crisis to 464,856, a statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health said on Friday.

The number of COVID-19 related deaths in Jordan now totals 5,224.

The cases include 4,280 in Amman, 871 in Zarqa, 779 in Irbid, 511 in Balqaa, 254 in Maan, 234 in Madaba, 173 in Aqaba, 168 in Karak, 131 in Ajloun, 103 in Tafila, 101 in Mafraq, and 100 cases in Jerash.

A total of 416 cases have been admitted to the hospitals, and 243 have been discharged upon recovery.

It also said that 50,545 PCR tests were conducted today, bringing the total number of swab tests to 5,103,809, with a positivity rate for the day of about 15.24 per cent.
