Ammon News -

Head of the Jordan Churches Council, Bishop Christophoros Attallah, said "Everyone has a sacred duty to do to protect people in this country from the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic."

Attallah stressed the importance of avoiding the negative practices that have been seen in the past months.

"The Churches Council is committed to the government's decision and churches will be closed, Sunday mass will be suspended, and prayers will be performed at homes until these difficult days pass," Attallah said in a joint press conference with Ministers of Media, Health, Awqaf and Interior, held Wednesday evening.

Bishop Atallah called for avoiding crowding in funerals and to limiting attendance to family members with no more than 20 people.
