Army Chief: JAF to continue upgrading border security

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti said Tuesday that the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army (JAF) will continue to develop the border security system and provide it with all modern and advanced equipment to enhance its capacity to defend the country and its security.

The army chief also said during a tour of the Royal Border Guard Brigade/ 8, one of the Southern Military Zone units, that the armed forces will give due care to its members in the operational, training and logistical fields to enable them to carry out their tasks and duties efficiently and competently.

Huneiti, in the presence of senior JAF officers, was briefed by the unit's commander on the progress of operational and administrative development plans and training programmes, and the tasks and duties assigned to them.

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff met with the officers of the unit and conveyed to them the greetings of His Majesty, the Supreme Commander, commending their distinguished level in terms of training and combat readiness, high professionalism and the ability to carry out their tasks.
