10-03-2021 12:17 AM

Ammon News -

The government will Wednesday and Thursday announce a set of precautionary and restrictive measures to address COVID-19 infections that soared in the past few days, State Minister for Media Affairs Sakher Dudin said on Tuesday.

Speaking at a joint press conference with Minister of Education and Higher Education Muhammad Abu Qudais, Dudin announced that all vocational training centers will close kingdom-wide as of Wednesday through April, 1.

He said daycare nurseries will remain open, but will be subject to strong checks to protect the health of staff and children.

Dudin, who is also the government's spokesman, indicated a recent surge in infections here at home and abroad requires vigilance and stronger measures to contain the pandemic and protect public health.
