Ammon News - The Ministry of Public Works and Housing on Monday floated tenders to establish six schools in a number of governorates of the Kingdom, at a value of JD17.5 million funded by a grant offered by Saudi Arabia through the Saudi Fund for Development, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

Minister of Public Works and Housing Yahya Kisbi said that constructing these schools will contribute to providing an appropriate educational environment for students and teachers, creating job opportunities for members of the local community through the system of mandatory employment of Jordanian workers from the governorates in these projects.

Kisbi expressed appreciation towards the cooperation of Saudi Arabia and its continuous support to projects in various sectors.

The tenders included the construction of an elementary school in Ajloun with a total area of 3,520 square metres, an elementary school in Mafraq with an area of 2,816 square metres, a secondary school in Jerash with an area of 3,228 square metres, an elementary school in Karak with an area of 2,186 square metres, a primary school in Ma'an with an area of 6,122 square metres, and a primary school in Tafileh with an area of 4,580 square metres.

The construction of the school premises will be in accordance with the highest international standards, and it is expected to complete the implementation of these projects before the end of 2022, Petra reported.
