Pursuant to defense orders, the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) has carried out, during the past four months, 63,818 monitoring visits to economic and commercial establishments.

In a GAM press statement issued Thursday, the GAM's health inspection teams have taken legal action against 8,413 violating establishments, and fined 3,310 for other businesses for breaking defense orders in place.

The GAM's inspection centers are working around the clock, in light of the "exceptional" circumstances triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic, to apply defense orders at economic establishments, primarily exhibiting physical distancing and adhering to wearing face masks to preserve public health and safety, read the statement.
